Attorney Joshua Wood
Joshua Wood graduated from Boston University School of Law in 2004. After graduating from law school, Joshua began his legal career working in the Brockton Superior Court Public Defender office. In 2006, Joshua left the Public Defender office to work for a small Family Law practice on Cape Cod. Since 2008, Joshua has owned a private law practice with Attorney Jason Benzaken. In 2017, Attorney Daniel Alexander joined their practice.
Joshua has tried serious criminal cases in the District and Superior Court, and has litigated complex matters in the Probate and Family Court. Joshua’s work in the trial courts involve criminal representation from arraignment to trial, in all matters from Operating Under the Influence of Liquor to 1st Degree Murder. In the Probate Court, Joshua regularly represents clients in Divorce, Modifications of Divorce Judgment, Child Custody and Support, Paternity, and Guardianship Matters.
From 2010-2014, Joshua was a Licensing Commissioner for the City of Brockton. In 2010, he was on Mayor Linda Balzotti’s Transition Team and later was the Chairman of the Brockton Mayor’s Task Force on Public Safety.
Joshua is currently the President of Pilgrim Advocates, Inc., the non-profit corporation that oversees and administers indigent criminal defense in Plymouth County.
